MOTORBIKES, motorised floats and more than 2,000 people will make their way through Holyrood Park to mark the first week of the city's festivals after being forced to give way to the tram works.

The event will start at 2pm on Sunday, 9 August at the Holyrood Park Road entrance, by the Commonwealth Pool.

It will then head down towards Our Dynamic Earth and the parliament, finishing close to Meadowbank Stadium at about 3pm.

As part of the celebration, organisers say there will be floats representing popular Fringe shows including Tempo Musical Productions, Forth Children's Theatre, Edinburgh Peoples' Theatre and the Lady Boys of Bangkok.

Tempo will feature the Bond Concert Nobody Does It Better on their float with a variety of Bond Villains and Bond girls while the roller-skating cast of The Rink Musical will accompany the lorry and perform for the crowd.
