MEDIA RELEASE July 2009

The Rink
A musical by Kander & Ebb, the writers of Chicago and Cabaret.

This Tony award winning musical focuses on Anna, the owner of a dilapidated roller skating rink on the boardwalk of a decaying seaside resort, and her plan to sell it to developers. Her hope is to demolish both the rink and the sour memories it holds of her husband and daughter.

Complicating her plans, her prodigal daughter Angel returns to town seeking to reconnect with the people and places she long ago left behind. Through a series of flashbacks, revelations, and emotional battling, the two deal with their pasts in their attempt to reconcile and move on with their lives.

Made famous on Broadway by Liza Minnelli and Chita Rivera, it has a host of great songs, a witty script and some roller-skating men thrown in for good measure!
